Proof American Silver Eagle

Proof American Eagle coins are the collector’s version of the official US Silver Bullion coin. A limited number of these scarce coins are available each year. They often sell out soon after issue.

Proof American Silver Eagle Design – The US Mint used the same design for the front side of the coin as the Walking Liberty Silver Half-Dollar, originally designed by Adolph A. Weinman and known as one of America’s most beautiful silver coins. The Proof Silver American Eagle coin depicts Lady Liberty cloaked in the American flag adorned by olive branches as she walks toward the new day (the sun). “IN GOD WE TRUST” is imprinted on right side of the coin.
The back side of the Proof American Silver Eagle coin was designed by John Mercanti and depicts the symbolic eagle beneath an inverse pyramid of 13 stars, which represents the original 13 colonies. The words “UNITED STATES OF AMERICA and “1 OZ. FINE SILVER~ONE DOLLAR” encircle the outer rim of the coin.

Proof American Silver Eagle Minting – These silver American Eagles are subject to a comprehensive minting process that uses specialty dies. Fine coin blanks are fed into presses and struck multiple times to result in highly detailed and lustrous coin imagery. The packaging includes a beautiful velvet case and an official US Mint Certificate of Authenticity. This certificate is the United States government’s guarantee of silver content, weight, and purity of the coin.
