Platinum Canadian Maple Leaf 1 oz. Coin

Canadian Government Guarantee – The Government of Canada continually guarantees purity, weight, and value in legal tender of each Platinum Canadian Maple Leaf bullion based coin.

The Royal Canadian Mint, founded in 1908, introduced both The Platinum Canadian Maple Leaf coin and The Silver Maple Leaf coin in 1979. Both coins are 99.95% fine.

The Platinum Canadian Maple Leaf Design – The Platinum Maple Leaf coin carries the same front and reverse-side designs as the Gold and Silver Maple Leaf coins. The front side features Queen Elizabeth II. The design changed in 1990 to reveal a more sophisticated portrait of the Queen. In each version of the coin, the Queen’s name, ELIZABETH II, appears at the top. The denomination along with the issue date of each coin is shown beneath her portrait. The reverse of the coin shows a maple leaf, which is the national symbol for Canada. The name of the country and the amount and purity of the platinum are also shown on the reverse side.

The Platinum Canadian Maple Leaf Coin Mint – Based on popularity of the Gold Maple Leaf coin, the Royal Canadian Mint started producing 99.9% pure platinum bullion coins. The Ottawa, Canada branch was originally founded as a branch of Britain’s Royal Mint. It became Canadian owned in 1931 and later a corporation of the crown in 1969.
